After qualifying I practiced as a general dentist in Grassy Park, Cape Town.

Principal dentist at the Groote Schuur Hospital from 1993 to 2000

Registrar in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Groote Schuur Hospital 2000-2005

Presently in Private Practice at the Netcare Blaauwberg, the Panorama Advanced Day Clinic and the West Coast Private (Life) Hospitals and part time consultant at UWC’s Dental Faculty at Groote Schuur and Tygerberg Hospitals

Completed the degree LLB through UNISA in 2022.  The degree was awarded cum laude

I have delivered presentations at several ICOMS congresses, presentations at the SASMFOS congresses and actively involved in the local CPD presentations in conjunction with the Netcare Blaauwberg Hospital to health professionals and allied health workers employed in the Public and Private Sectors.

Attended the Faculty Education Programme and Chairman’s Education Programme and the Leadership Development Programme of the AO and served variously as faculty, chair and director in AO educational programmes.

Away from the maxillofacial and oral surgery arena, I completed the  LLB degree through UNISA with modules in Forensic Medicine and Medical Law completed.

Completed a certificate in The Foundations of Medicolegal Law jointly presented by SAMLA and UCT
