I qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Pretoria in 1994. I spent the next approximate 04 years of my work life working on Locum basis in South Africa, but mainly working abroad (USA) as a Senior Therapist and eventually as a Rehab Director. Since return to South Africa in 1999 I started specializing in Medico Legal work. I write an average of 400 reports per annum; my office in total produces an average of 600 reports per annum in relation to Medico Legal Claims. This is inclusive of Road Accident Fund Claims and Medical Negligence Claims. I have been involved in several matters where landmark judgements were made. I have assisted with matters where I was asked to provide liability reports to assist with eventual quantification of matters. Over the past approximate 10 years I have been specializing in matters involving children (Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Amputations, Blind, Brain Injuries, etc). As part of my own personal development and staying attuned with world trend, I started with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Intervention in 2018 at the University of Pretoria, which I finished in November 2019. As a result of this my practice and I have become actively involved in Case Management. We currently have 190 active matters that we manage. This inclusive of, but not limited to, children suffering from Cerebral Palsy, Brain Injury, Visual Impairment, Amputation, etc. We also manage adults with Brain Injury, Orthopaedic Insult Sequelae as well as Psychiatric Sequelae. Over time we have established a team of professionals whose services we can utilize as and when needed to ensure that the beneficiaries of the trusts that we case manage get the full benefit from the trusts. As part of case management we do home visits, school visits, work visits, hospital visits, etc as and when indicated.
