Short CV | |
After completing pupillage and writing the National Bar Examination, I joined the Johannesburg Society of Advocates on 11 July 2002. I have been a practicing member at the Maisels Group, 4 Protea Place, Sandton since then. Before joining the Bar I completed a period of 2 year articles and successfully completed the Attorney's Admission Examination. I have conducted numerous trials for and against the RAF (both merits and quantum) in the past 15 years, involving consultations with medical experts in preparation for trial, leading evidence, considering awards for general damages and presenting arguments including the application of contingencies to actuarial calculations in determining loss of income. I have been appointed as a curator ad litem for many patients suffering from severe brain injuries as a result of motor vehicle accidents and assisted in their claims against the RAF. In 2017 I obtained a certificate in Medical Negligence and Health Sector Mediation Training through Mediation in Motion in association with the University of Cape Town.
